This is a modern mountain retreat surrounded by nature: Deer Haven Villa is a contemporary take on traditional mountain living.

With its iconic sloped roof and clean architectural lines, the entire exterior is wrapped in sleek metal, while the fully glazed front façade reflects the surrounding forest throughout the day — making the villa visually blend into nature.

Inside, the goal was simple: bring the forest indoors. Artist Anita Genc hand-painted the tall open-space walls with stunning forest and deer motifs, creating a unique atmosphere that connects the interior with the landscape. Her artwork continues into the bedrooms, adding warmth and character to every corner.

The interior combines modern design with natural comfort. A deep-green kitchen, velvet textures, warm leather and wood details, and soft ambient lighting create a luxurious yet cozy environment perfect for relaxing.

Garden and forest

A garden that leads straight into the forest

Around the villa lies a quiet meadow with old apple trees, the wooden deck and the hot tub. In the evening, small lights at their roots make the old trees glow.

At the far end of the garden, a gate in the fence opens onto the forest, so every walk among the trees starts right outside your door.

Rooted in the region, built by local hands

The villa was designed by the architect Zoran Zidarić. Most of the work was done by local companies and craftsmen, mainly from Ogulin, and working with local masters gave the house its special soul.

Mikas Ogulin built the house, Keramika Interijeri Ćamo laid the tiles, Vlado Josipović made the metal roof and walls, Interijeri Mladen Frankić did the interiors, Guru Woodlab made all the woodwork, and Anita Genc painted the walls.
